Rand Berney serves as an independent director for the Tortoise Capital Advisors' closed-end funds. Mr. Berney held several leadership positions during his 35-year career in energy, serving 20 years in corporate officer positions with ConocoPhillips, one of the world's largest energy companies. During his tenure at ConocoPhillips, he was deeply involved with its corporate board, including during the merger of Conoco Inc. and Phillips Petroleum, Inc. in 2002. At ConocoPhillips, he served as senior vice president of corporate shared services, vice president and controller and general auditor. He is an executive in residence and professor at Kansas State University's College of Business Administration. He is a member of the Oklahoma Society of CPAs, the Financial Executive Institute, American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Institute of Internal Auditors and the Institute of Management Accountants.
