Jan 11, 2013 -LEAWOOD, Kan.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Tortoise Capital Advisors is pleased to announce the promotion of Brad Adams to the position of Managing Director. Mr. Adams is responsible for oversight of Tortoise‘s financial operations team and is Chief Financial Officer for Tortoise‘s closed-end funds.

During his seven years with Tortoise, Mr. Adams has served in key roles supporting the launch of numerous closed-end fund equity and debt offerings. “We are extremely proud of Brad‘s substantial contributions in helping us develop Tortoise into a leading investment firm,” said co-founder and Senior Managing Director Kevin Birzer. “Brad has proven his ability to take on this leadership position by helping create a firm that is viewed as an industry leader in client service, transparency and reliability.”

Mr. Adams has more than 28 years of experience in the financial services industry. Prior to joining Tortoise, Mr. Adams was a financial services industry consultant and vice president of finance and operations, chief operating officer and director of Jones & Babson, Inc. Mr. Adams earned a Bachelor of Science degree in finance from the University of Wyoming and a Master of Business Administration degree from Rockhurst University (Kansas City, Mo.).
