LEAWOOD, Kan. — Jan. 14, 2014 — Tortoise Capital Advisors today announced that Michelle Kelly, Kyle Krueger, James Mick, Edward Russell, Matthew Sallee and Robert Thummel have been promoted to the role of managing director.

Ms. Kelly joined Tortoise in 2006 and is responsible for the firm‘s business and product development and marketing and communications efforts. She heads up the product development effort, including the open end, closed-end and separate account products and recently oversaw the rebranding of Tortoise‘s platform of marketing materials.

Mr. Krueger joined Tortoise in 2004 and serves as senior trader overseeing the trading team. Under his leadership, the trading team has implemented systems to manage and execute all trades on behalf of the firm‘s growing client base including public funds and separately managed accounts. This includes primarily publicly traded equities but also fixed income and derivatives programs.

Mr. Mick joined Tortoise in 2006 and serves as a portfolio manager. He is primarily responsible for the coverage of the firm‘s institutional account portfolio and is involved with portfolio management across all Tortoise investment products.

Mr. Russell joined Tortoise in 2006 and markets Tortoise's open end funds and other Tortoise products in the broker dealer and registered investment advisor channels. He also coordinates the activities of the affiliated Montage distribution team.

Mr. Sallee joined Tortoise in 2005 and serves as a portfolio manager. He is primarily responsible for the daily management of the MLP closed-end fund portfolios and is involved with portfolio management across all Tortoise investment products.

Mr. Thummel joined Tortoise in 2004 and serves as a portfolio manager. He is primarily responsible for the coverage of the firm‘s upstream portfolios and is involved with portfolio management across all Tortoise investment products.
